It’s the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, and those expecting more than we’ve already been told we’re getting are set to be disappointed. Both president Satoru Iwata and designer Shigeru Miyamoto have shot down the idea of doing a celebratory collection.

We recently had a (rather crappy) collection of Mario games to celebrate the plumber’s 25th, but no such honor shall be given to Link. Apparently, doing another compilation “isn’t the Nintendo way,” which makes absolutely no logical sense to me.

Fortunately, there’s still plenty to look forward to. As well as a bunch of concerts, we have Link’s Awakening on the 3DS eShop, and a free version of Four Swords in September. Not to mention, Ocarina of Time 3D (review coming later today!) and Skyward Sword. That’s a lot of green-hatted chicanery to be getting on with.
