Multiplayer is pretty much the main — and only, really — reason you’d want to play Aliens vs. Predator Classic 2000 in the year 2010. As of today, it is now something we can access; a patch went up on Steam enabling the mode.
I could go on and on about how a large portion of the game has not aged well, but then I remember this is a videogame in which you can kill marines and Xenomorphs as a Predator. Uh, hell yes? The sheer chaos of the multiplayer is still firmly intact, even after all these years.
Just to make sure everything was on the up and up, I joined a quick multiplayer match for long enough to decapitate a poor guy standing above some vents with my shoulder cannon. Yes, everything works. That said, the menus for finding games are super basic, and you can’t create private rooms yet (patch incoming).
All in all, it was fun to relive the madness. Try it out when you get the chance!
