Yes! NeoGeo everywhere! Bring it on.

This isn’t Wii hate, but the thing I was most excited about at Wii launch was getting the Virtual Console NeoGeo games in my library. I still get excited about the releases, as anyone that reads this website would know. Speaking of excited, now the NeoGeo game library is coming to the PS3’s PlayStation Network. SNK and Sony are calling it the NEOGEO Station.

In celebration of the system’s 20th anniversary, the NEOGEO Station will bring a continuously growing’ library of classic NEOGEO games to the PlayStation Network for $8.99 per title for PS3 and $6.99 per title for PSP. The best part? These systems get both versus ad co-op support! The PlayStation Network lets players play against or with each other via the PS3, and the PSP titles have ad-hoc support.

A whopping 10 titles hit PSN at launch, on December 21:

  • Fatal Fury (PSP 12/21)
  • Alpha Mission II
  • The King of Fighters ’94
  • Samurai Showdown
  • Baseball Stars Professional
  • Magician Lord
  • Metal Slug (PSP 12/21)
  • League Bowling
  • Super Sidekicks
  • Art of Fighting

In 2011 SNK will release the PSP versions of the above listed as well as many more classics from both systems. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that these games are coming, with online support, and at such a great price.
