EA Sports is really excited about NCAA Football 11 — so much so that they want you to try it out a month before the game’s release. The demo features four different college football matchups: Oklahoma at Texas, Florida at Florida State, Miami at Ohio State, and Missouri at Clemson.

I’m not sure if this is the first time this has ever been done, but playing the demo will unlock content in the full game. Playing each matchup will unlock the respective teams’ Nike Pro Combat uniforms and helmets, and if you recommend the game to a friend (just use the in-game menu to send an automated “hey you should check this out” message), you’ll unlock the gear for Virginia Tech, TCU, and LSU as well.

Pretty cool, eh? The demo is available now on Xbox Live — click here to add it to your console’s download queue — and it will be up on the PlayStation Network later today. NCAA Football 11 will be out on July 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2. Be sure to check out my full hands-on preview.
