You’re going to need all the weapons you can handle to survive the zombie apocalypse, and Project Zomboid is no different. Guns, melee weapons, and explosives are all necessary if you want to have a chance at staying alive.
One of the best spots to pick up weapons is inside armories, one in particular that can be found inside the Kentucky State Prison, also known as the Rosewood Prison. Where to find the armory in the Kentucky State Prison in Project Zomboid
The armory is located inside the first building to the left of the entrance of the prison, and then head up the stairs to the second floor. You can find the staircase up to the armory on the first door to the right of the entrance. The armory can’t be missed, as the door is broken already.
You’ll need to be very careful while raiding this armory because the Kentucky State Prison is filled to the brim with zombies. You can very easily be overrun here if you don’t play it safe.
The best thing you can do is not rush blindly. You will very quickly be faced with endless hordes, and if you get surrounded by them, you’re as good as gone. Luckily, you won’t need to delve deep into the prison to find the armory, as the main building is filled with dark corridors that can easily become cramped with zombies. It’s not a place I’d consider one of the best base locations.
Take your time and take out each zombie as they come at you. Don’t be afraid to take steps back into the parking lot if need be. You will face a good amount of them, so don’t end up with your back against a wall.
What’s inside the armory at Rosewood Prison in Project Zomboid
Inside the armory, you’ll find a good selection of guns and ammo that you can loot from the lockers. Here are the guns you can find inside:
- JS-2000 Shotguns
- M9 Pistols
- MSR788 Rifles
You’ll also be able to grab some holsters and plenty of scopes to take with you. The ammo you find inside the lockers corresponds with the guns you find, so not only do you get the weapons, but plenty of magazines and clips to go along with them.
Be sure to check inside all the lockers, since each one will have its own set of ammo and weapons inside. You can find ear protection, too, so be sure not to leave anything behind. It’s worth taking all you can after the work it takes to get there.
