Dragon Quest 3 Remake might have inherited all the classes from the original version, but the Monster Wrangler is a new addition, and it’s probably my favorite.
Classes are essential to determining how you play and clear content, and all of them have their strengths and weaknesses. Unlike all other nine classes, Monster Wrangler isn’t about you as a player. Instead, the abilities will be useable by the monsters you rescue and recruit to fight beside you (in the arena). Naturally, you’ll want to unlock the class and its associated abilities as early as possible.
How to get Monster Wrangler abilities in Dragon Quest 3
The Monster Wrangler ability is a unique class, for sure. Leveling up the abilities will help you to recruit monsters successfully, especially the higher-level ones. The abilities are also enhanced the more monsters you recruit and train.
It all begins once you reach Romaria, which is incidentally the location of the first Monster Arena. You’ll have to rescue and successfully catch (or recruit them), and the NPCs can help you in the process. Some monsters are easier to find, while the other ones are harder. Once you’ve recruited three of them and leveled up your Monster Wrangler class once, you’ll be able to unlock the abilities.
Having a Monster Wrangler will help you to rescue any monster you want, and they won’t run away. Additionally, the enhanced abilities will make it a lot easier for you to recruit more of them for you, including those at higher levels.
Monster Wrangler abilities in Dragon Quest 3 Remake are some of the strongest available in the game. At level 10, you’ll unlock a special skill named Animal Instinct. This specific ability will make it extremely easy for you to search for new monsters.
The Call of the Wild/Monster Pile-On is another excellent ability (different levels) that can be used to your benefit, as your monsters will do the job for you. It’s highly useful when used in the correct situation, making it unique.
To round up, make sure to rescue and recruit at least three monsters, and reaching the first level itself will be a tricky task. From there, make sure to rescue as many monsters as possible and interact with the NPCs as much as possible.
