How to enter the Temple of Bhaal door in Baldur’s Gate 3

A bloody hard door to enter

One of the most difficult locations you’ll need to get to in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the enigmatic Temple of Bhaal. This dark temple is part of one of the main quests in Act III, where players will need to find a way into it to eventually rescue their companion from Orin the Red.

Just getting there, however, is no easy task. In order to get in, you’ll need to follow the right steps. We’re here to show you how to enter the Temple of Bhaal. Be aware that there are spoilers ahead.

How to get into the Temple of Bhaal in Baldur’s Gate 3

The most important part of getting into the Temple of Bhaal is obtaining the Amulet of Bhaal, which unlocks the door at the Manslaughter’s Chasm. This leads you into the Temple of Bhaal itself.

The Amulet of Bhaal won’t be easy to get. To do so, you’ll need to accept the Investigate the Murders quest, which follows a series of murders that have been committed by cultists. This will lead to the Impress the Murder Tribunal quest, which will end with you getting the amulet.

To finish out the quest, you either need to kill the Bhaal cultists that have the amulet or prove your dedication to Bhaal by murdering an innocent. Don’t worry about making the right or wrong choice. No matter which one you choose, you’ll receive the Amulet of Bhaal so long as you’re successful.

If you decide to kill the cultists, be aware that the Amulet of Bhaal is on the leader Sarevok Anchev’s body. You can pick it up from him once he’s defeated.

How to find the Temple of Bhaal door

The door to the Temple of Bhaal can be found near the Undercity Ruins, in the sewers. When you find the right place, there will be bodies hanging from the ceiling, and a stone with bloody red markings. You can’t lockpick this door, so you’ll need to show it the Amulet of Bhaal.

While you can shoot one of the bodies from above to fall on the stone and unlock the door, you’ll need the actual Amulet of Bhaal to unlock the final door in the temple itself. This is why I’d recommend picking up the amulet first.

Inside this door is the Manslaughter’s Chasm, where there are tons of cultists you’ll need to fight, including Farslayer of Bhaal Ghislev. This worshipper is particularly deadly, as he will chant Bhaal’s Power Word Kill. If you don’t beat him before the chant is complete, which takes five rounds, he’ll be able to kill every party member in Manslaughter’s Chasm.

Once the enemies are finally out of the way, you’ll follow the path to find the final door and use the Amulet of Bhaal again to open it.

There’s a separate path on your way to the Temple of Bhaal door that will lead you to the Absolute if you head down it. However, the Emperor will warn you and your party to steer clear of it for now, since you don’t have all three Netherstones.

At the door itself is the final point before no return, so be sure to rest at this point to get ready for another large battle. There will be a fast travel point at this door, so you can return to it after you’ve had the time to recharge.
