While the critical reception for Heavy Rain has been overwhelmingly positive, the masses seem to be rather divided on how good it actually is. As it turns out, the opinions of the Destructoid staff on Heavy Rain vary quite a bit, so a bunch of us — at this point, the cast will include me, Anthony, Aaron, Jim, and Nick — are getting together tonight to record a one-off Heavy Rain “spoilercast,” if you will.
In case that phrase didn’t make it clear, we will be discussing the game at length and with specificity; in other words, we will be spoiling the crap out of Heavy Rain. If you haven’t yet finished the game, or if you plan on playing it eventually, I’d advise you not to listen (or even enter the comments section below).
With that out of the way, I will note that there’s only so much quasi-intellectual wankery we can engage in before we get sick of hearing ourselves talk. (Well, those of us not named “Anthony,” anyway.) That’s where you come in, people who have completed Heavy Rain. If the game made you think about or feel something that you’d like us to discuss — perhaps you believe that it lowers the bar for videogame narratives, or that it’s blatantly worse than Deadly Premonition, or that it proves Roger Ebert right — ask away!
I guess we’ll still be engaging in quasi-intellectual wankery, only it’ll be in response to you. Oh well.
We’re recording at 9:30 PM EST, so please get your questions in before then.
