There are 24 Stilled World Rifts in total in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, although you won’t encounter all of them as part of the main story. Some will need to be sought out on the side or are accessed through side quests.

Completing all of the Stilled World Rifts, including those considered optional, will increase Tri’s Power to level 11 and give you all of the associated rewards, so it’s definitely worth doing.

How to open Rifts in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

To open a rift in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll need to find the small golden ripples on the surface. Approach and interact with them to have Tri open up an entrance to the Still World Rift, then interact with the entrance to jump in.

If you enter and then leave a Rift, you won’t need to have Tri open up the entrance again, as it will still be there from the previous time. For Rifts that require you to find and rescue Tri’s friends, any that you’ve saved during a previous visit to a Rift will be saved, and you’ll only need to find and rescue the remaining ones that you didn’t find previously.

Whereas most of the main story Rifts don’t have any of Tri’s friends to rescue, the optional ones all have a varying number of friends inside. You’ll complete the Rift and seal it, once you’ve rescued all of the groups of friends.

There are fewer treasures to be found in these Rifts, but they’re worth doing to increase Tri’s Power, plus you’ll be rewarded with Might Crystals for most Rifts that you clear.

Here are all of the optional Rifts, how to unlock them, and how many of Tri’s friends you need to rescue in each:
