Details on DSiWare game Legend of Exidia arrive via ESRB

It’s no big secret that some of us around here think that DSiWare is a big pile of poop. As someone who watches the weekly download releases of Nintendo pretty closely I can tell you that the service has had many, many lackluster weeks, but there are gems every once in a while and it appears Gameloft is attempting to deliver one in the form of Legend of Exidia. The ESRB has once again leaked details on a game we haven’t heard anything about and it sounds pretty juicy.

Exidia seems to be a lot like a Zelda game, with a top down view, a magical adventure and swords involved. Players take control of Luis, who is tasked with saving the land from great evil and doing other quests in villages, cities, forests and other places one goes when one is on an adventure. At one point he gets to chop off a dragon’s head and at another there’s a woman with lots of cleavage, probably garnering the game its E+10 rating.

While a Zelda clone can go terribly, terribly wrong it’s worth keeping our eye on this one despite the fact that the ESRB says the game has a rudimentary art style and puts a lot of emphasis on the word spritely when describing the enemy characters. Since we haven’t seen the game it’s hard to tell if Gameloft is going with a retro look or just made a game with crap graphics.
