THQ to continue making WWE games for the next eight years

THQ has announced that they will continue their partnership with the WWE franchise for the next eight years. THQ will be the sole provider of all things professional wrestling for all major videogame platforms. No doubt this is great news to THQ stockholders as the WWE videogames have netted over $1.4 billion in sales since 1995, according to the NPD.

THQ has also announced that the lawsuit against Jakks Pacific and the WWE has been settled. All three parties withdrew their claims without any admitting any wrongdoing. THQ will be paying the WWE $13.2 million while Jakks will be receiving $20 million from THQ over the next four years. The THQ and Jakks Pacific joint venture is also ending at the end of this year.
