It was a little surprising to hear that Good Old Games hadn’t offered any of the Myst games as a download prior to today, because it’s exactly the type of classic you think of when you hear someone describe what GOG.com is all about.
As of now, Myst: Masterpiece Edition can be had in exchange for $5.99. The follow-up Riven and The Manhole: Masterpiece Edition will be available in the coming weeks for the same affordable price.
Seeing as how every post we do on GOG ends up getting comments about how people haven’t heard of the site before, let it be known: for all of your DRM-free gaming needs, look no further. If we had a seal of approval, this service would so get one.
Oh, Myst. Now there’s a game I have always been tremendously good at not beating. It’s as if I’m gazing into one of those autostereograms, trying different tricks with my eyes to see the sailboat, but it just never happens.
