Best AK-74 loadout in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Great for medium to long-range gunfights.

The AK-74 is one of the three Assault Rifles you can unlock and use in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Its great firepower already makes it a top choice for mid-to-long-range combat. Tweak it a bit more with the attachments we’ve mentioned below, and you’ll have a beast at your disposal.

Now, before you customize the AK or, rather, any weapon, reach Player Level 4 first. This will unlock the Create-A-Class (customizable loadout feature) in Black Ops 6. Then, reach level 7 to unlock the AK-74 in all its glory.

What is the best build for the AK-74 in Black Ops 6?

The AK-74 already has fantastic stopping power, but with such power comes a sizeable amount of recoil. To mitigate this, the focus for the build is to make it as staple of a platform as possible. Use these attachments to accomplish this feat.

  • Muzzle: Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforce Barrel
  • Rear Grip: Assault Grip
  • Stock: Light Stock
  • Fire Modes: Rapid Fire

Starting with the Muzzle attachment, the Ported Compensator is the best choice for the AK-74 to help mitigate its verticle recoil and reduce the intensity of the first shot, allowing you to stay on target.

The Reinforced Barrel improves effectiveness at long-range combat with increased damage and improved Bullet Velocity. The improved Damage Range will ensure each shot from the AK-74 hurts, no matter how far away. The increased Bullet Velocity will ensure you hit your targets at a distance.

Next, slap on the Assault Grip to massively improve your Sprint to Fire speed so you’re ready to shoot when it’s time to. You will especially want this attachment when you’re up against SMG-heavy lobbies to compete.

The Light Stock greatly improves your mobility, increasing your Movement Speed across the board while you aren’t sprinting or ADSing. The most important aspect is the increase in Strafing Movement Speed because this allows you to potentially outmaneuver your worst enemies (SMGs and Shotguns) in close-range engagements.

Finally, the Rapid Fire attachment significantly boosts the AK-74 fire rate (thus DPS) at the cost of its handling stats across the board. However, the Ported Compensator and the lack of an equipped Optic will be more than enough to mitigate these downsides.

Best Equipment and Perks for AK-74

Your loadout for the AK-74 is a generalist one that does not directly adhere to the weapon’s strengths or weaknesses. Instead, the idea is to have a loadout that is universally competitive in all forms of Black Op 6’s gameplay. Here are the best Equipment and Perks you can use with the AK-74:

  • Tactical: Stim Shot
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Field Upgrade: Trophy System
  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Gung-Ho
  • Perk 3: Bankroll
  • Perk 4: Ghost
  • Wild card: Perk Greed

Using these attachments, equipment, and perks, the AK-74 will be a force to be reckoned with on any map. Be it the open spaces in Scud or the cheeky corners of Derelict, you can’t go wrong with this weapon. A great alternative to this weapon is the XM4.

However, if you prefer engaging in close-range combat, then the Jackal PDW should be your go-to choice.
