One of its most important uses is for crafting the Chromatic Metal in the game. Chromatic Metal is a crucial resource in NMS, as it enables the player to travel to different star systems, since it is required to build upgrades for the hyperdrive such as the Cadmium Drive, Indium Drive, and Emerald Drive. Moreover, Chromatic Metal is also refined to get Cadmium, Emerald, and Indium.

Activated Copper is also required to build the Mind Ark, which is required during the Artemis quest path.

How to get Activated Copper in No Man’s Sky

Finding Activated Copper is luckily not too difficult in No Man’s Sky, but it does require you to have a hyperdrive installed in your starship. Activated Copper is found on planets that orbit a yellow star, so players would have to travel to those systems (if they are not already there).

Once you are in a star system, use your scanner in space to scan planets, and you should eventually run into a planet where the scan shows that Activated Copper can be found on the planet.

Land on the planet, and use your Analysis Visor to locate Activated Copper deposits. After finding a deposit, the rest of the process is as simple as it gets for mining other deposits. Use your Terrain Manipulator in the Multi-Tool to start mining, and you will receive Activated Copper in your Exosuit Inventory.

If you’re unable to travel to any yellow star systems for some reasons, you might also find Activated Copper by salvaging starships at a Starship Outfitting Terminal. However, the process of finding a planet with deposits would be much simpler, and you will get Activated Copper without going through the tedious process of salvaging starships which is also an unnecessarily expensive choice to get Activated Copper.
