Fields of Mistria launched into Early Access on PC via Steam on August 5, and rather than just enjoying the praise coming their way, developers NPC Studios are already looking ahead to future updates and new content.
According to their Early Access roadmap, players who have already dove into Fields of Mistria can look forward to at least one major update this year. It’s due to arrive at some point in Winter 2024, although an exact date is not known, while more will come in future updates.
As this is an Early Access roadmap, there is the possibility that time frames may change and the update schedule may alter slightly. Regardless, this roadmap provides a good idea of what players of Fields of Mistria have to look forward to from the game.
Fields of Mistria Winter 2024 update
The update which will arrive before the end of 2024 is set to add a lot of new content, including the following:
Villagers and Romance
- NPC heart progression cap increasing from 4 to 6 hearts
- 6 heart events added for romanceable NPCs
- Additional dialogue
Mines and Dungeon
- New enemies
- New cosmetic drops from monsters
Town and Renown
- Level cap for Renown raising by 20 levels
- Additional rewards for increasing Renown
- More board requests from villagers
- More museum content and additional rewards for hand-ins
- A new festival
Skills and Perks
- Skill caps raising from level 30 to level 45
- Additional perks to be obtained using Essence
Customization and Cosmetics
- Further home and farm upgrades
- Additional player and animal cosmetics
- New furniture and décor pieces
Future updates for Fields of Mistria
Although the time frame for these updates is not confirmed, and they may not all come in one patch, the following updates will be arriving in Fields of Mistria at some point during Early Access:
Villagers and Romance
- NPC heart cap raising to 10 hearts
- 8 and 10 heart events for romanceable NPCs
- Marriage and children
- Additional vendors at the Saturday Market
Mines and Dungeon
- New biomes and questline events
- New spells to be unlocked
Town and Renown
- Further Renown level cap increases
- Additional town quests, including on the request board
Animals
- Pets
- The ability to ride large animals
Fields of Mistria is available to play in Early Access now through Steam, and although it doesn’t have official verification, early reports from those playing on Steam Deck have shown no problems with gameplay on the handheld platform.
