Where to find fertilizer in Fallout 76

Composting more important than ever in the nuclear wasteland.

Farming is still vital to survival in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout 76. To make the best recipes in the game, players must either gather or farm the necessary crops in their C.A.M.P.s. Regardless of what crop you want to grow, you’ll need fertilizer to plant them.

Besides using it for crops, scrapping items into fertilizer is a Seasonal Challenge. No matter your need for fertilizer, we’ll be showing you the best locations to find bags of fertilizer which are the best way to accumulate a load of these materials quickly.

The best locations to find bags of fertilizer in Fallout 76

While you can hold a stack of perishable food products in your inventory and wait for them to spoil to craft fertilizer yourself, this isn’t recommended. Spoiled items are cumbersome and take too long to spoil. Plus, selling food products to a vendor is one of the easiest ways to make caps in the game so it’d be a waste to let them spoil. Bags of fertilizer can be scrapped to create one unit of acid and four units of fertilizer. This makes it the most efficient item to scrap into fertilizer in Fallout 76.

Here are the best locations to find several bags of fertilizer:

  • Wixon Homestead: 10-12 bags of fertilizer found in and around a small shed in the backyard.
  • Lewisburg: 10 bags on the rooftops with greenhouses throughout the town.
  • Flatwoods: 6 in the garden area and the shed found there.
  • Vault-Tec Agricultural Research Center: 5 in the greenhouses found behind the main building.

Wixon Homestead is by far the best POI to farm bags of fertilizer. The shed is a short run from the fast-travel point and besides a couple Scorched in the area, is relatively safe. One trip here can easily top up your fertilizer reserves or complete any fertilizer-related Seasonal Challenges in Fallout 76.
