Does NBA 2K25 have New Gen features on PC?

No longer behind the times.

Once NBA 2K25 was announced, one of the biggest questions in the community was whether there would be ‘next-gen’ features on PC.

This question is extremely valid if you have played the game on a PC in any of the last few years. While developers like EA Sports had shifted games like FIFA 23 and F1 23 to next-gen, 2K decided otherwise for their basketball video game. However, something in NBA 2K headquarters has changed because NBA 2K25 will finally have the same version running on PC, PS5, and the Xbox Series XlS.

NBA 2K25 PC version’s upgrade to next-gen was badly due

Many fans expected NBA 2K24 to have the next-gen features. However, they were left disappointed when 2K said last year that PC players would have to bear with the old-gen version. This was an even bigger disappointment as the next-gen version was getting ProPLAY (yes, it’s not a gimmick, and it does have telling effects on gameplay).

This year, PC players can finally enjoy ProPLAY, and there is a chance for Visual Concepts to evolve this feature further. Moreover, being in next-gen also means the ability to enjoy The City, which is the ultimate proving ground for the MyPlayer mode. Being in the next-gen also automatically unlocks important features like the new badges, player builder templates, and more, which result in dynamic gameplay.

How to pre-order NBA 2K25 on PC

As of July 10, the game can be pre-ordered on Steam. The Steam page is already available. The release date is September 6. There are three different editions to choose from: Standard, All-Star, and Hall of Fame.

The Standard Edition is the cheapest of the three, but its only offering is the base game (along with the pre-order rewards). The All-Star and Hall of Fame Editions have more to offer despite having higher prices. The Hall of Fame Edition also includes a 12-month NBA league pass, which is great value for basketball lovers.

With a shift to next-gen, expectations will be high from PC users, and they will hope that NBA 2K will finally be able to deliver on the promised grounds.
