At Spike Chunsoft’s panel during Anime Expo 2024, the Danganronpa and Shiren publisher announced something a little different. The cozy Japanese hit Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid is getting an official English translation and release set for August 6, 2024.
There have been plenty of cozy games that have come out in recent years, but while the Boku no Natsuyasumi series has been around for quite some time, we haven’t seen a mainline game make its way over to the west.
Natsu-Mon features all the talent behind the summer vacation series too, including director Kaz Ayabe and the team at Millennium Kitchen and Toybox. Yasuhiro Wada, creator of Story of Seasons, also worked on Natsu-Mon.
Originally released in 2023, Natsu-Mon follows a young boy, the son of a ringmaster of a traveling circus. The circus has come to a small rural town and it is up to you to do whatever you want during your summer visit. The game is completely open-world; you can climb trees, swim in the ocean, catch bugs, go fishing, and more.
Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Kid will be out for Nintendo Switch for $39.99 on August 6. You can also get it on Steam right now, but it’s only in Japanese at the moment; the English translation update will launch on August 6 as well.
