Time sure does fly. We’re approaching roughly four months since the release of Path of Exile: Necropolis, the most recent expansion for the popular ARPG. This of course means it’s time for the next league launch, which developer Grinding Gear Games revealed today as Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur. The new league will launch on both PC and consoles simultaneously on July 26.
Settlers of Kalguur
As per usual, Grinding Gear Games will host a live reveal for the expansion just over a week before the league launch, on July 18. During this event we’ll learn the full details about the new league including its new features and content as well as the seasonal mechanic and any balance or QOL changes coming in the update.
One such QOL update that has already been revealed is that reservation effects such as Heralds and Auras will now persist through death. This long requested feature will make it so if you die you don’t have to take the time to reapply all of your Heralds and Auras before engaging in content. Or, if you’re like me, forget to do so and then die because of it.
I’m very curious to see what the league mechanic will be for this one. Based on the brief teaser, we see Faustus, a fence who in the current version of the game exists at the Rogue Harbor and is a big part of the Heist league mechanic. Faustus is the vendor that players visit to exchange Heist Targets for Rogue’s Markers. In the teaser we see Faustus boarding a boat, with what looks to be a developing settlement in the background including sheep, and what looks to be a windmill structure.
We’ll find out exactly what the league is about on July 18, but we can at least speculate, right? The backdrop of the developing settlement makes me think we’re going to visit and all new land in Wraeclest, and be tasked with helping to develop the new land. The teaser trailer also shows the logo in front of a body of water, so maybe we’ll actually hit the seas in some fashion? Maybe do some fishing?
What would you like to see in the new Path of Exile 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur expansion when it goes live on July 26?
