How to get the FFXIV Alpaca mount in Dawntrail

The Alpaca has become something of an icon for Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail. Not only does a huge chunk of the MSQ revolve around the spitting creatures, but there’s also a minion and a mount variety Alpaca to collect as well. 

Thankfully, getting your hands on the Alpaca mount couldn’t be simpler. Just as we received the Argos mount for completing the Endwalker MSQ, the Alpaca mount is obtained through completing the Dawntrail MSQ up to and including the level 100 quest ‘Dawntrail’. 

Presumably, this Alpaca is the very same one which Wuk Lamat worked so hard to capture in her efforts to get the first of the seven keystones, as it comes fully loaded with a saddle and headgear to help control the beast and prevent errant saliva sharing. Hopefully.

What do you get for finishing Dawntrail?

As well as the Alpaca mount, finishing Dawntrail also comes with some other rewards:

• In the Glow of a New Dawn achievement
• “…of the New Dawn” title
• Smile Orchestrion Roll
• 5,000 Gil

You’ll also gain the ability to earn Tomestones of Aesthetics if you complete duties at level 100, and the merchant selling Neo Kingdom gear will become available inside Solution Nine. As well as this, you’ll gain access to a myriad of side quests which unlocks content, such as Spire of Trial, Extreme trials, and Expert level dungeons.
