Gray Zone Warfare has been riddled with mixed reviews on Steam, mainly concerning the many bugs that make it sometimes impossible to play. So, in an effort to address these issues, Madfinger Games has announced a fix for several notable glitches, with a mission to include “over 200” improvements.
I’ve seen a lot of patch notes throughout my time in gaming, and the scope of 200 sure does seem like a lot. While the specifics of what they will include are relatively a mystery, we know the grenade exploit will be patched. This annoying glitch allows players to hurt members of their own faction, taking their gear in the process. Now, these faction traitors will no longer have this power once GZW Patch 1 rolls out.
Other than the exploit, the crashes that cause a player’s gear to disappear will be addressed. I, for one, would like to regain all those quest rewards I lost from this. However, it doesn’t seem like these objects will be placed back, as it will only get rid of the crashes.
What the other 200 improvements will entail is unknown, but players have been chiming in on a few of them. Specifically, soldiers hope to see a buff to shotguns, which have been considered a relatively weak weapon amongst some players.
Another upcoming feature that may make it to GZW Patch 1 is the day/night cycle. Nevertheless, it is only slated for “one of the early updates,” so it might not be available for the first patch.
You can expect Gray Zone Warfare Patch 1 sometime next week, either debuting at the beginning of the week or, at the latest, May 24, 2024.
