A good chunk of getting better at something is learning from others. Sure, it might not be as fun as playing, but spectating various players opens up many different aspects of a game and this is especially true in Fortnite. Learning how another player eliminated you or getting new inspirations for building will only elevate your game and make you a greater threat in the next Ranked match. Here’s how to pop those peepers at other players.

How to spectate friends in Fortnite
Sometimes you’ve booted up the game, but aren’t quite ready to actually play. Maybe you’re folding that last basket of laundry or you have a delicious turkey club sandwich to finish. Either way, you can pop in Fortnite, join the voice chat, and watch your friends play while you tackle whatever it is you’re doing.
- Join a friend’s lobby.
- After joining the party, you’ll need to wait 30 seconds due to a time limit in place from Epic Games.
- Click your friend and select “Watch Game.”
How to spectate others in Fortnite

Once you’re down and out, you’ll be able to spectate your killer. Should they be bumped off, you’ll be switched to their killer’s perspective. It’s like watching a food chain chart be rendered in real-time. Though the desire to get into another match may be strong, it’s worth spending some time watching others to learn new strategies that can better your gameplay.
