We’ve all seen by now that the Predator in Aliens vs. Predator can rip heads off of idiot marines and lovingly stroke the attached spinal chord in a sick trophy kill. Publisher Sega likes doing that. It really, really likes doing that … perhaps a bit too much.

“It’s got to be the trophy kills on the Predator,” says brand manager Rob Bartholomew, when asked about the game’s signature moment. “… We’re just getting familiar with it again, and getting those trophy kills right where you rip the skull off the marines and pull their spines out afterwards and the Predator kind of caresses the spinal cord and purrs.

“It’s such a great moment, and it’s something that everyone recognizes from the films. The guys we’ve had wondering around already are screaming that it’s fantastic and it’s kind of the money shot. So that’s the perfect kind of picture moment for me.”

Sega also reveals, by way of its podcast, that the game has been in development for around four years, even though we only saw evidence of it last year. It’s pretty high on my “DO WANT” list and is due out for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next year. Really can’t wait to go stroke me some spines.
