Chiori is a 5-star Geo character who debuted in Genshin Impact Version 4.5. She has some interesting synergy with other Geo units and their constructs. So how do you make the best use of Chiori?
In most cases, Chiori’s playstyle will be to use her Skill twice in quick succession, then attack with another character. Using Chiori’s Skill twice will automatically switch to the next character in your team lineup.
Chiori’s dolls
Chiori’s primary source of damage is the dolls conjured by her Skill. Using her Skill creates a doll named Tamoto. Tamoto stays on-field when Chiori switches out and will automatically attack enemies once every 3.6 seconds for a total of four hits.
Enemies do not have to take damage to trigger Tamoto’s attacks. Tamoto functions like a turret and will attack enemies in this way even when they’re shielded. Tamoto stays where it is summoned and has decent range, with a small AoE on its hits.
If there is a Geo construct on the field, Chiori will summon an additional Tamoto for a total of two dolls. You can either use Chiori’s Skill first or create the construct first, the order does not matter. Creating a construct while one Tamoto is on-field will summon another Tamoto with its own independent duration.
Ending Chiori’s Skill
After casting Chiori’s Skill, you can follow up with either another Skill press or Normal Attack.
Using her Skill twice in a row will automatically swap Chiori out for the next character in your team. It will also grant Tamoto two more instances of damage when your next character uses a Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attack.
Using Chiori’s Normal Attack right after her Skill will cause Chiori to gain a Geo infusion on her Normal Attacks. While this lets Chiori deal Geo damage while on-field, these Normal Attacks will still scale with her ATK stat, which you normally won’t build for. I don’t recommend using her Geo infusion unless you specifically want her on-field.
Best teams for Chiori
Having a Geo construct on the field practically doubles Chiori’s damage. You should pair Chiori with a Geo teammate who can create constructs. The list includes:
Having more than one construct does not create more dolls, but many Geo characters have synergy with other Geo characters anyway. You might as well lean into it with a primarily Geo-focused team. If you don’t want to go all-in on a full Geo team, you can try double Geo instead to take advantage of Geo Resonance. Some examples of Chiori’s teams include:
- Chiori – Itto/Noelle – Gorou – Albedo/Zhongli
- Chiori – Noelle – Furina – Albedo/Zhongli
- Chiori – Navia – Albedo/Zhongli – Fischl
- Chiori – Ningguang – Furina – Charlotte/Mika
- Chiori – Ningguang – Bennett – Fischl/Xiangling
- Chiori – Lyney/Wanderer – Bennett – Zhongli
However you choose to play Chiori, the most important thing is to have fun. If you have an idea that’s not represented here, try it out and see if it works for you!
