The From A to Zygarde Field Research task requires trainers to collect a Zygarde Cell and utilize Routes. Like most special items, the cells can be tricky to obtain, as they can only be found in specific locations. Here’s where to find Zygarde Cells in Pokémon Go and how to use them.
Pokemon Go Zygarde Cell locations
Zygarde Cells can be found on Routes, which are designated pathways set by other trainers. Select the Nearby icon (the section with three mysterious Pokemon in the bottom-right corner) to locate a nearby Route. Then, walk at the starting point and go to the finish line. Those who don’t see this option must reach Level 5 to unlock it.
In some cases, Routes may not be available in your area, so you may need to travel to a more populated location, like parks or malls. Upon the start of the Route, look out for shining green objects on the pathway. I recommend beginning with one of the short-distance walks since longer treks can make it more challenging to spot the Zygarde Cells.
If you haven’t seen any Zygarde Cells during a walk, restart Pokémon Go and resume the Route to possibly trigger its appearance. I happened to find some cells at the end of the Route, so don’t give up straight away at the start. Unfortunately, the cells don’t always spawn, but a restart could help them move along.
How to use Zygarde Cells in Pokemon Go
The cells can be used to create different Zygarde forms, with 50% Forme (snake-like creature) and Complete Forme. The alternative variations work similarly to evolutions by significantly upgrading the Pokémon’s stats.
Collect 50 Zygarde Cells to achieve the 50% Zygarde Forme, then obtain 200 more of them for the final version. Of course, this task mandates many Route completions, so focus on those small-distance walks to get them quicker. Be sure to also collect the reward via the From A to Zygarde Field Research task. The mission objectives involve collecting a Zygarde Cell, completing three Routes, and catching 20 Pokémon while it’s active.
