Can you play Multiplayer for Story Missions in Granblue Fantasy: Relink?

In Granblue Fantasy: Relink, multiplayer becomes a huge part of the gameplay loop. Even though you can opt to do all missions solo, rewards are amplified greatly by playing multiplayer. In order to get into the meaty part of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you need to reach the post-game meaning you have to play through the Story Missions. But can you play multiplayer for Story Missions in Granblue Fantasy: Relink? Here’s what we know.

Can you do co-op for the Story Campaign in Granblue Fantasy: Relink?

When it comes to the actual Story Campaign in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, unfortunately, you can not co-op through it. You can only play the Story Missions solo until you complete the entire campaign and unlock the massive amount of post-game content.

However, you will unlock Side Missions at the Mission Counter as you progress through the campaign. If you want, you can team up with others and play the Side Missions in a co-op setting but will have to go back to solo to continue progressing the story.

It would definitely be cool if you could play every mission in Granblue Fantasy: Relink in co-op. But, Cygames opted to make the campaign a more narrative-driven experience at times, which is probably why it can only be completed solo. The Story Missions will take you between 12-18 hours to complete, which is just a fraction of the total time you can spend playing all the missions in the action RPG.

Is the post-game content multiplayer?

Once you’ve played through the entire Granblue Fantasy: Relink campaign, you’re in luck. The rest of the game can be played either solo or multiplayer with others. In fact, the game incentivizes playing multiplayer. The rewards you obtain for completing missions in multiplayer are more plentiful than those obtained via solo play.

In order to play co-op, simply visit the Mission Counter. Here you can create a multiplayer lobby where your friends can join, and then you can pick the mission you want to play. After each mission you’ll end up back at the hub to pick the next mission.

So can you play Multiplayer for Story Missions in Granblue Fantasy: Relink? Unfortunately not. But once you get through the Story Missions, you can play the rest of the game multiplayer.
