How to unlock the HRM-9 in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone

The new Season 1 Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone brought with it plenty of new content for the game, including new weapons like the HRM-9. The HRM-9 has one of the most unique unlock methods in MW3 and Warzone we have seen thus far.

How to unlock the HRM-9 in MW3 and Warzone

With the Season 1 Reloaded update, the HRM-9 is now available as part of the Season 1 battle pass in MW3 and Warzone. It is part of the new A21 sector of the battle pass, but it doesn’t work at all like the other 20 sectors in the seasonal pass. Instead of letting players spend battle pass tokens they earn to unlock the new SMG, you must complete some limited-time challenges this season.

There are five challenges in total you need to do first, the first four of which give you an additional item for free. Once you complete the initial four challenges in the A21 sector, you will then unlock the final challenge for the HRM-9 itself. Its completion earns you the new SMG.

Here are all five of the challenges you must do if you want to start running this SMG in your loadout:

• Get 10 operator or special zombie eliminations while aiming down the sights with an SMG
• Get 10 operator or special zombie eliminations with an SMG’s hipfire
• Earn 10 operator or special zombie headshots or critical eliminations with an SMG
• Get 10 operator or special zombie eliminations with an SMG’s Tac Stance
• Get 20 operator or special zombie eliminations while moving with an SMG

Tips for completing all HRM-9 challenges

Those challenges ensure players have to get at least 60 eliminations of other players or special zombies in MW3, Warzone, or Zombies. Personally, I don’t recommend trying to do these challenges in Zombies since the special zombies take much longer to find and eliminate compared to other players.

Instead, you want to do battle royale game modes like Resurgence if you prefer Warzone. This way, you are brought back constantly throughout the game and there are tons of players, so you have the most chances to eliminate these operators.

If you are a multiplayer fan in MW3, instead, I recommend playing game modes like Ground War, War, and Team Deathmatch. These also provide you with plenty of players to eliminate in a single match and it is possible to get 20, 30, or even 40 eliminations in one lobby.

As for the SMG you should use for these challenges, the Rival-9 is by far the best SMG in this game at this time. It has a decent range, fire rate, and impressive control in battles.
