Chevreuse Genshin Impact‘s latest four-star healer specializing in Overload teams — an archetype that hasn’t been very prominent in the Genshin meta until now. Let’s take this opportunity to explore some of the best, most unique teams using Chevreuse.
Chevreuse’s Ascension 1 passive reduces enemy Pyro and Electro RES by 40% as long as the party consists of only Pyro and Electro characters. On top of this debuff, her Ascension 4 passive buffs her teammates’ ATK based on her own HP. The elemental limitation makes Chevreuse a great healer only fully utilized in Overload teams.
Raiden hypercarry teams with Chevreuse
Chevreuse’s unique kit replaces Kazuha in a standard Raiden hypercarry team. This is, in my experience, the most comfortable and most effective Chevreuse team I have tried. Raiden’s interruption resistance and two sources of healing allow her to simply plant herself in front of an enemy and deal damage without needing to dodge. Due to Raiden’s melee range, lack of crowd control, and Overload’s tendency to send small enemies flying, I recommend this team against bosses.
- Raiden is the hypercarry, meaning she will take up the majority of field time and deal most of the team’s damage. She is not replaceable in this team.
- Bennett is a potent ATK buffer who will increase Raiden’s damage and provide some minor healing.
- Sara further buffs Raiden’s ATK. If Sara has her sixth Constellation, she will also increase Raiden’s CRIT DMG.
- Chevreuse acts as another buffer and healer.
If you wish, you can replace either Bennett or Sara with Kazuha. Having an Anemo unit will nullify Chevreuse’s Ascension 1 passive, but Kazuha can provide the RES shred as well as a potent DMG% buff. Kazuha can be an attractive choice if you are facing multiple enemies instead of a single boss.
Yoimiya teams with Chevreuse
Yoimiya’s range works well with Overload by reducing the need to chase after enemies blown away. This team is very single-target oriented, so it also works well against bosses. Be aware that, without a shielder, Yoimiya has no interruption resistance, so her combos may be interrupted if you let her get hit.
- Yoimiya is the on-field DPS, dealing damage with her Pyro-infused Normal Attacks.
- Fischl deals sustained Electro damage through Oz.
- Bennett buffs both Yoimiya and Fischl. Fischl will receive Bennett’s buff as long as she is standing in his circle when she summons Oz.
- Chevreuse is another buffer and healer.
If you find that you are having trouble staying in Bennett’s Burst, you can replace Bennett with a crowd-control unit like Venti or Kazuha. Losing Bennett will hurt your DPS quite a bit, but the comfort can be worth it. I find it quite satisfying to unleash Yoimiya and Fischl’s attacks into Venti’s Burst, creating a series of Overload explosions within Venti’s black hole.
Lyney teams with Chevreuse
Lyney’s Charged Shots solve the problem of Overloading enemies away by letting you aim at specific enemies. His Skill and Burst have shorter range, but his Burst grants him the mobility to catch up to enemies before using his Skill. Lyney’s team is similar to Yoimiya’s, but his playstyle is rather different. Without a shielder, it’s easy for Lyney to be interrupted while charging up a shot, so try to position yourself at a safe distance.
- Lyney is the on-field DPS in this team. He uses two or three Charged Shots, then Burst, then Skill.
- Fischl summons Oz, then leaves the field.
- Bennett buffs both Lyney and Fischl. Make sure Fischl is standing in Bennett’s circle when she summons Oz.
- Chevreuse is a healer and buffer.
As with Yoimiya, you can consider replacing Bennett with Venti or Kazuha if you want the crowd control. The substitution will result in lower damage, but greater comfort. If you choose to go this route, then I recommend Kazuha, since it’s easier to aim Charged Shots at enemies when they’re not being juggled in Venti’s Burst.
Best F2P teams for Chevreuse
No 5-stars? No problem! Try some of these teams:
- Fischl – Beidou – Bennett – Chevreuse
- Xiangling – Bennett – Sara – Chevreuse
- Yanfei – Fischl – Bennett – Chevreuse
In general, you can mix and match Pyro and Electro characters as desired. If you don’t mind losing Chevreuse’s RES shred, then add other elements, too. This will generally be an Anemo unit with 4pc Viridescent Venerer, but Xingqiu can work if you want to try a combination of Overload and Vaporize.
Whatever your chosen team, I wish you the best of luck. Version 4.3’s Spiral Abyss is great for Overload teams, so try out your Chevreuse team there!
