Is co-op cross-platform in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?

Playing with friends on other platforms? Here’s what you need to know.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is made by Massive Entertainment, the developers behind The Division and The Division 2, which are famously co-op games. You may naturally feel hyped for the co-op element in Frontiers of Pandora, but can you play it with friends on other platforms?

Is there cross-platform co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?

Yes, Ubisoft has confirmed that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora features cross-platform co-op. That means if you’re playing on PC and your friend has an Xbox or PlayStation, you’ll be able to play the game together. The same goes for playing between Xbox and PlayStation consoles, too. Whatever your platform, it doesn’t matter how your friend decides to play, you’ll be able to enjoy Pandora together.

The game also features cross save capabilities, which means you can continue your game on any of the platforms that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is available on. This is great news if you head a multi-platform household.

Unfortunately, unlike The Division, which allows squads of four players, co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is limited to two players only. So you won’t be able to form a Na’vi posse to roam the lands with. That’s a shame because Pandora looks like an excellent location to build your own clan and complete missions with multiple friends. Maybe we’ll get to do that in a sequel.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Amazon Luna on December 7, 2023.
