Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is bringing series protagonist Kiryu (sorry, Joryu) back for another solo romp — but is will he be able to do it on the Game Pass service?
To the delight of Yakuza fans (and subscribers), yes, Like a Dragon Gaiden is a Day-One release on Game Pass. It arrives on November 9, right after everyone takes a collective breath after what was one of the tougher fall release schedules in gaming. Are we really going from Spider-Man 2 to Alan Wake 2 to Like a Dragon? Yes, and it’s been both fun and exhausting.
Like a Dragon Gaiden joins other Yakuza games on Game Pass
Game Pass will make the game’s launch easier for subscribers’ wallets. You can play the game either on PC with PC Game Pass for $9.99 per month, or on Xbox Series X|S with the more expensive Game Pass Ultimate at $16.99 per month. Of course, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name isn’t all too demanding financially. You can pick up the spin-off game for $49.99. It’s a better deal than other games we’ve seen recently.
The Game Pass news was revealed during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2023 Digital Broadcast last month. Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio boss, Masayoshi Yokoyama, announced that both Gaiden and Like a Dragon: Ishin were heading to Game Pass. The latter is now available on the service, so now fans are waiting for the next (tiger) drop.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name fills the narrative gap between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Kiryu, who has taken on a new job and new name, now fights for the Daidoji Faction, all the while trying to prevent the news of his survival from becoming public.
