Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 3 arrives a teensy bit later, on September 22

Have it on my desk by five.

If you were excited for patch 3 for Baldur’s Gate 3, you’re going to have to remain excited for just a smidge more. Larian says that the patch needs one more pass with the QA microscope before it’s ready, and will be coming September 22, 2023. That’s (checks watch) tomorrow.

The big feature of patch 3 is the addition of the magic mirror. With it, you can take a good long look at yourself. Where did these wrinkles come from? When did that spark of youth leave your eyes? The world has really done a number on you. Can you even recognize yourself anymore?

Also, you can use the magic mirror to change your appearance, voice, and pronouns. However, you can’t change your race or body type. You also can’t alter your origin, which is an unfortunate reality for many of us. No word on whether or not you can change your crotch cantrip, if you know what I mean.

A tweet from Larian says that patch 3 says it’s “a big one.” I’m guessing that it’s going to include more than just the mirror. I mean, the mirror is a lot, but it is just one feature. Bugfixes are something of a given. I know a lot of people are hoping that the third act gets tightened up, but I’m a long way away from seeing the state of it myself.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now for PS5 and PC. Patch 3 is set to drop tomorrow, September 22, 2023.
