After many tracks and races along the way, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass bonanza is finally coming to a close. The last wave, Wave 6, arrives this holiday with a whole kart-full of new racers in tow.
Shown during today’s Nintendo Direct, Wave 6 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will feature four new racers pulled from the series’ history, as well as a new circuit from the Wii entry.
Here’s the full lineup of what’s coming in the final wave:
- Daisy Circuit (Mario Kart Wii)
- Diddy Kong (Mario Kart Double Dash)
- Funky Kong (Mario Kart Wii)
- Pauline (Mario Kart Tour)
- Peachette (Mario Kart Tour)
Seeing both Funky and Diddy Kong arrive isn’t too surprising, but it’s neat to see some of the Mario Kart Tour content make it here too before the Booster Course Pass closes out. The racer recently announced it was ending new content drops, so preserving some of that here in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is neat.
It’s a pretty character-filled end to what’s been a massive amount of content for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The kart racer was already one of, if not the best, to zip around and toss shells in. Seeing it continue to get these injections of content over the years felt like an added bonus.
We don’t have a firm date yet for when these racers and the new circuit will arrive, outside of a holiday window. But as per usual, those with the Expansion Pack for Nintendo Switch Online can pick up the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass content at no additional cost.
