Starfield is, on paper, a vast universe just begging to be explored. However, it is also a video game, which means that making the prettiest character is the true endgame for many. While you’ll unlock nice outfits along the way, what about the way your character looks? Can you change your appearance later in Starfield if you realize you messed up during the character creation process?
Fortunately, it’s easy to change your appearance in Starfield. Just find an Enhance! store and you can remake your character’s physical appearance for 500 credits. You can easily find this shop in New Atlantis by taking a train to the Commercial District. Walk down the path to your left, and you should see a small hole in the wall before you reach the giant Outland store. Walk in here, and you should see the “Enhance!” poster behind the counter. That’s how you’ll know you’ve reached your destination.
Talk to the man at the counter and select the option to pay 500 credits for your makeover. You can also change your name and pronouns here too, which is great if you, say, decide naming your guy Jimothy Donbleau isn’t a great joke anymore.
Can you select new traits or respec your skills in Starfield?
Unfortunately, the Enhance! Station is a purely cosmetic feature. Your core character stats and traits will remain, no matter how many credits you pay. You can’t respec at all in Starfield, though you can remove certain traits later in your journey.
While the lack of respec might be a bummer, keep in mind that Starfield has no level cap. This theoretically allows you to obtain every skill in the game, though you’d have to reach a very high level to do that. If you’re still early on and really, really don’t like your starting skills, then you might feel happier just starting a new character.
