Rogues are one of the best Classes in the game both in combat and outside of combat. They are handy when you need to do a bit of deception to get what you desire or avoid conflict. On the battlefield, Rogues are masters of stealth and sneak attacks. To get the most out of your Rogue, you’ll need to pick the right Feats.
For help with your Rogue builds, consider the Baldur’s Gate 3 Feats discussed in this guide.
Best Feats for Rogues in Baldur’s Gate 3
Rogues excel when it comes to stealth, which allows you to sneak up on enemies and strike before they even know they’re being targeted. Rogues are also pretty manipulative. Deceive the right characters, and you can enter places you shouldn’t and acquire items you need. It could even prevent a horde of foes from getting aggressive.
Rogues sneak and strike when the time is right. The worst thing would be for your Rogue to mess up when they finally have their shot. You can minimize the odds of this happening with the Savage Attacker Feat. When you make a weapon attack, you’ll roll your damage dice twice and use the highest result.
Regardless of whether your Rogue is a melee assassin or a ranged striker, it’s going to be important to get them into the right position. The Mobile Feat can help you with this, as it significantly increases your movement speed.
Perhaps the best build for a Rogue is that of an ambusher that can lie in the shadows until the time is right. Thanks to the stealth, you’ll need to focus on defence a little less than usual. A stealthy ranged attacker build for a Rogue can be made with the following three Feats.
Actor
If you plan on avoiding combat as much as possible, you’ll want the Actor Feat. It increases your Charisma by one, and it also doubles your Proficiency Bonus for Deception and Performance checks.
Sharpshooter
To make the most of your ranged attacks, you need to get some tactical advantage. With the Sharpshooter Feat, you’ll no longer suffer penalties from High Ground Rules. The Crossbow Expert is also a good Feat to have for ranged attacks.
Ability Improvement
Almost all builds will benefit from Ability Improvement. It adds two points to one Ability or one point to two Abilities. For your Rogue, you’ll want to boost your Dexterity to give you an edge with Dexterity-based weapons.
You can get a Rogue in your party relatively early on if you befriend Astarion. Although he’s occasionally annoying, it’s helpful to have him on your team when you need to pick locks or manipulate other characters.
