Intrepid adventurers joining a quest together!

Can you play Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay together?

Co-op in the latest Baldur’s Gate is indeed a great feature. However, is Baldur’s Gate 3 crossplay between PC and PS5 actually possible?  Currently, there is no crossplay available between PC and console versions of Baldur’s Gate 3. Publisher and developer Larian Studios has confirmed there will be crossplay between the console and PC versions of BG3 at some point. However, it may take some time.

“It was always in the planning,” director of publishing at the studio Michael Douse said to Eurogamer. However, the feature wasn’t ready for launch. He said, “We have an idea of when we’d like to get it ready for, we don’t want to put a date on it until we’re sure.”

Is it possible to transfer your BG3 save file over to PS5?

Yes, it’s possible to transfer your Baldur’s Gate 3 save file from PC to PS5. Similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Huntyou can actually transfer your save progress between the PC and PS5 versions of Baldur’s Gate 3. Simply create an account on Larian’s website, and then sign in with your details in-game or in the launcher.

To do that, go to Options and make sure that “Cross save” has a tick by it. It’s under “Save Options.” You can toggle other options while you’re here, especially if you want a more “PG” experience. You may also alter the maximum number of auto-saves and quicksaves in Baldur’s Gate 3 from 25 to 50.

How BG3 multiplayer works

To begin a Baldur’s Gate 3 multiplayer campaign, select the “Multiplayer” option in the main menu. Then, on the bottom right of the screen, choose “Create.” You can then invite your friends by clicking on the cross icon. Make sure you switch Online Visibility to “Friends Only” on the right side.

If you’re a friend who wants to join someone’s lobby, go back to the multiplayer lobbies menu and check the Friends filter box. It will then show only your friends’ lobbies after clicking on “Refresh.”

Additionally, you can have your friends join into your current single-player save. Pause the game and then select “Multiplayer” from the menu. You can then invite your friends to take on certain characters in your party like Asterion.
