Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find Astarion

High elf Astarion is quite a mysterious fellow you’ll meet in Baldur’s Gate 3. In this Dungeons & Dragons adventure, he’s a rogue that can attack foes from the shadows and cause a ton of damage. However, he can sneak out while you’re sleeping at the camp, so I wonder what he’s up to. Here’s how to find Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Near the beginning of the game (Act 1), you can spot Astarion southwest of the Roadside Cliffs and west of the Overgrown Ruins. He’s close to where the Nautiloid crash landed. He’ll at first be aggressive, immediately drawing his knife out. However, if you stay calm and don’t be aggressive toward him, he’ll learn that you’re a friend, not a foe. He realizes that he’s also infected with the parasite inside him. You can persuade him to join the team fairly easily after you both learn you’re on the same side. It seems like this is the only way to meet Astarion and bring him to your party.

Is Astarion worth using on your team?

From my experience, Astarion is a valued member of your party. He’s far better than Wyll, in my opinion. He can land hidden attacks that can deal 10-15 damage at Level 2 and this is certainly helpful in tough boss battles. He also has great bonuses in stealth, sleight of hand, and acrobatics. If he’s tested in agility at any point of Baldur’s Gate 3, Astarion should be helpful. He also has a +3 bonus in nature intelligence and animal handling. His abilities allow him to district foes too.  He’s not great at intimidating foes, however, likely due to his slim stature.

Hopefully, Astarion will help you in many battles to come in Baldur’s Gate 3.
