How to unlock the Invader Archetype in Remnant 2

Dream on, dream on.

Other than the Archon, the Invader Archetype is one of the toughest to unlock in Remnant 2. Obtaining the Invader Archetype will involve you going to the final world of the campaign, so there are sure to be some spoilers ahead. The full objective list involved will take you through a large portion of the Morrow Parish in Losomn, essentially finishing the world’s storyline. Then you’ll head to the final world of the campaign, Root Earth.

Unlocking the Invader Archetype actually requires the Dreamcatcher melee weapon. This entire part takes place in Losomn, so you’ll want to head to the Ward 13 Red Checkpoint Crystal and roll the world in Adventure Mode. Furthermore, you will want to roll the Losomn map that starts you out in Morrow Parish. The other map doesn’t have the required area, the Sanatorium.

Once you’ve progressed to the Sanatorium, you need to find three Stone-Carved Dolls. Even though these are random in their actual location, their general area is consistent. This is where you can find the three Stone-Carved Dolls:

  • The first is on the ground floor of the Sanatorium behind a bookshelf.
  • The second is outside to the right of the shed where you fight the Ripsaw boss.
  • The third one is on the third floor of the Sanatorium.

Once you have the three Stone-Carved Dolls, continue progressing through the Sanatorium questline. Eventually, you will meet Nimue, who will then return you to the Sanatorium. Once here you will find the Prison Cell Key. Head to the basement of the Sanatorium and on the right side you will see a locked door with a woman behind it speaking cryptically. Give her the three Stone-Carved Dolls and then use the Prison Cell Key to unlock the door.

Strangely, the woman is not there but instead, you will find the Nightweaver Stone Doll. While still in the basement, find the ghost spider web to access the Tormented Asylum. Once here, go to the left and into the first prison cell and you will find another ghost spider web. Interacting with it will allow you to place the Nightweaver Stone Doll, which will give you the Dreamcatcher weapon.

For the next part of unlocking the Invader Archetype, you must have progressed your campaign to the final area, Root Earth. You then want to navigate to the Corrupted Harbor area. Once you’re in the wrecked ship, head out into the large open area. In the middle is a dead Root creature pod, with a mysterious blue mist surrounding it.

You need to equip your Dreamcatcher weapon and melee attack the pod. Doing so will trigger a unique attack animation that grants you the consumable Watcher’s Dream item. Consuming the Watcher’s Dream will teleport you to an alternate world of the Corrupted Harbor, where the dead Root creature pod is now alive. This is the Bane boss. If you die during this boss fight, you will have to repeat this entire process again, including meleeing the dead Root creature pod to receive a new Walker’s Dream.

The Bane Boss himself is not too difficult, though he will spawn quite a few enemies throughout the encounter. You will want to focus them down so it does not get too chaotic, then switch back to Bane.

Once he is defeated you will receive the Wooden Shiv.

With the Wooden Shiv in hand, it’s now time to head back to Wallace in Ward 13. In exchange for the Wooden Shiv, 10 Lumenite Crystals, and 1,000 Scrap, Wallace will craft the Serrated Root Blade Engram.

Now that you have the Serrated Root Blade Engram you can unlock the Invader Archetype in Remnant 2!
