Obtain the Navigator’s Helm

In order to get the Plasma Cutter you must first obtain the Navigator’s Helm.

Essentially, you must head to the Extraction Hub in the world of N’erud. Here, you will find a hole under one of the three pistons constantly slamming the ground. Drop down in the hole and kill the Navigator Zombie and you will receive the Navigator’s Helm.

If you’re having trouble finding where exactly to go, we got an extensive guide on how to get the Navigator’s Helm in Remnant 2.

How to get the Plasma Cutter

Once you have the Navigator’s Helm you are going to want to equip it in your head slot. Once equipped you want to start exploring the region on N’Erud called The Eon Vault. This vast open-space area has a crashed ship somewhere on its surface. If you look at the screenshot above, this is what the crashed ship looks like.

Head into the hole in the side of the crashed ship and you will immediately see a locked door with a red laser scanning the area. This is the Navigator’s Room. If you have the Navigator’s Helm equipped, the scan will complete and open the door, giving you access to the room. Inside the room, you will see the Plasma Cutter weapon laying on the floor.

Is the Plasma Cutter a good weapon in Remnant 2?

Yes, the Plasma Cutter is actually a great weapon. Despite having an ideal range of 17m—which can be considered short or mid-range—the Plasma Cutter does not falloff until after 30m. This makes it a powerful weapon for most encounters, except when the enemy is very far away.

Also, due to its innate ability to increase damage when focused on a target, the Plasma Cutter is extremely powerful against bosses.

Its built-in Weapon Mod, Heat Sink, is also very useful. When used, you will instantly reload the Plasma Cutter. Furthermore, while active, the weapon generates 50% less heat and the ramping damage cap is increased to 3x. This lasts for 20 seconds, and the gun will Overheat automatically once it is deactivated. With this Weapon Mod you can very quickly melt enemies if you have the ability to focus on their weakspot during that 20 second window.
