Remnant 2 has taken the Steam charts by storm since its release, doubling the all-time peak player count of the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes, in its first week. The huge interest in Gunfire Games’ new release and its “Very Positive” rating on Steam are drawing even more attention to the game. One particular area of interest is whether Remnant 2 can be played on the Steam Deck.
Remnant 2 is verified on Steam Deck
We’re happy to say thatĀ Remnant 2 is not only playable on Steam Deck but that it’s Steam Deck verified, meaning it has the highest level of validation on Valve’s handheld PC. Verified means the default graphic profile for the game performs well, Steam Deck controls work flawlessly, every aspect of the game functions as you’d expect, and the game’s interface text is easily readable on the Steam Deck’s smaller screen.
That’s not a massive surprise since the PC requirements for the game are fairly low by 2023 standards, but it’s nice to have official confirmation for a new release. If you’re a tinkerer, there may be room for improvement too.
A developer at Gunfire Games claimed to be able to get 60 FPS onĀ Remnant 2 on the Steam Deck with low/medium settings and the performance upscaling mode turned on. However, we haven’t been able to verify that ourselves and your mileage may vary. Other, more powerful, PC handheld devices like the ROG Ally may have an easier time hitting 60 FPS in the game consistently.
Still, whether you’re playing on Steam Deck or something else, you should have no worries about playing Remnant 2 on the go.
