Come on and slam
Pikmin 4 can get really tricky, especially in the later stages. But every so often it might surprise you: and the dungeons are where the development team really flexes their muscles. Here’s how to rescue the recruit in Hectic Hollows if you’re stuck.
To rescue the recruit, slam into the wall (get used to doing it!)
As you approach the end of Hectic Hollows, you’ll notice a recruit high up on a tin can. If you’re like me, you’ll reflexively throw Yellow Pikmin at it in an attempt to snatch them up. After all, reaching high places is one of Yellow Pikmins’ defining traits!
However, it’s just out of reach. To rescue the recruit, you’re going to want to dash into the wall near them with Oatchi. Hold down the X button, aim at the wall, then release when Oatchi is fully charged. The recruit will fall onto the ground (brutal!), allowing you to rescue them. You only need three Pikmin to actually carry them to safety.

Keep in mind that dashing aggressively into things is a very common puzzle solution; as well as a great combat tactic. Riding Oatchi often can help you instantly solve puzzles, so get used to the idea of using the little dog as a vehicle!
