The Diablo 4 Campaign Skip, Explained

Straight to the grind.

Diablo 4 is a huge action RPG just begging to be replayed. With five distinct classes featuring several different playstyles, you’ll inevitably want to make new characters at some point. Fortunately, you don’t necessarily need to sit through the same story cutscenes every playthrough.

Campaign Skip works similarly to Adventure Mode in Diablo 3. If you select “Skip Campaign” upon creating a character, you’ll instantly appear in Kyovashad at the Waypoint. All story objectives will instantly become completed, giving you access to endgame features from the outset. You can grab your mount, instantly take on short open-world challenges called Whispers, and more. Any account-wide perks will carry over, though side quests and world exploration will start fresh.

Unless you specifically want to experience the story again, selecting this option will make all your future playthroughs much easier. That said, you won’t have this function at the start of the game.

How to skip the campaign in Diablo 4

To get the Campaign Skip function, players will need to complete the game once. This consists of clearing every Act in the story, beating the final boss, and watching the credits roll. Upon completion, you’ll see a notification the next time you return to your character selection screen that you can now opt to skip the campaign from this point onward. That’s all you have to do to skip the campaign in Diablo 4!

Upon making new characters, the Skip Campaign option will appear on the page where you see the toggle for Hardcore Mode. That said, in a unique twist, you can also retroactively select Skip Campaign for any character. In other words, if you made five characters right when you got the game, you can now instantly give them endgame status regardless of their current story progress. Use this however you’d like!

Selecting the Seasonal Server in Diablo 4

Does the campaign skip work the same when making a seasonal character?

Yes, you can use the Skip Campaign option when making a seasonal character. If you want to start a new seasonal journey, create a new character as normal. Check the “Skip Campaign” box when you reach the finalize screen, and press the “Start Game” button. Afterward, you will receive a prompt asking if you want to select the Seasonal Realm or the Eternal Realm.

To get the best and most up-to-date experience in Diablo 4, you’ll want to create a new character, select the Skip Campaign option, and put them into the Seasonal Realm. That way, you can partake in the seasonal quests, use season-specific Aspects, and just be in a larger player pool.

The seasonal servers tend to have more people since there’s new stuff to play with. It’ll also make fighting World Bosses and taking on Legion Events a lot more fun in a social way or if you need a bit of help in overworld activities.

Lastly, it’s optional and not for the faint of heart if you want to create a Diablo 4 character with the Skip Campaign in a Seasonal Realm on Hardcore.
