In what many would consider a shocking announcement, Nintendo revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles 3‘s story DLC, Future Redeemed, is out at the end of April. Some expected the DLC to arrive in the summer, fall, or even the winter of 2023, but lo and behold, Nintendo has the unrivaled ability to surprise us. Here’s everything we know so far.

Future Redeemed will be released on April 25, 2023

Future Redemeed is out on April 25, 2023. Nintendo originally stated that this fourth and presumably final DLC pack would be out “by 12/31/2023,” hence the aforementioned shock factor for the sudden release.

It’s part of the season pass, which was comprised of a minor set of bonuses in Pack 1, and characters/challenge modes in Pack 2 and Pack 3.

The story is meant to tie all three games together, and Rex/Shulk are involved

In the accompanying trailer, we’re put in the shoes of Matthew, the new core protagonist of the Future Redeemed story. Based on the game’s official Twitter account, they are described as a “young man who belongs to the organization “The City” that opposes Moebius. He has a straightforward and caring personality and is looking for his missing sister, Nael.”

Confirmed playable party members (via in-game footage from the trailer) include:

Other confirmed characters include:

  • Q
  • R
  • Z
  • Panacea
  • Na’el

Thankfully, the Japanese Xenoblade Twitter account has a “make sense edition” chart to showcase how every character has interacted with one another. You can find a fan translation here from Twitter user twiilit.

Throughout the gameplay footage provided in the above trailer, we see party members with a range of levels from 30-31, as well as levels 42-43, level 46, and level 50.

It has new music, including a sick battle theme

It’s expected that Nintendo and Monolith Soft would have new music for us, and the Nintendo of America YouTube channel shared one piece publicly: New Battle. There’s also the main theme that plays in the announcement trailer.
