Nintendo is bringing its Live celebration to Seattle. The company has announced that Nintendo Live 2023 is heading to Seattle, Washington sometime this September.

Previous events have been held in Japan, but this Live event is heading to the U.S. this time. The in-person event will host gameplay, live stage shows, tournaments, photo opportunities, and more.

For this Seattle event, Nintendo says there will be a “large-scale themed area” for all ages, with the experience designed with “both families and fans” in consideration.

More details, including the exact timing and location, will be shared sometime in the future.

Via the Nintendo site, there will be opportunities to play games with friends or at your own pace. Or you can watch some competitions in unspecified games, take pics with Nintendo characters, or check out sculptures that bring those worlds to life.

For a better idea of what’s in store, here’s the Animal Crossing x Splatoon live concert from Nintendo Live 2022.

Nintendo’s party

So yes, it’s a big Nintendo fan event held in Seattle. It’s probably worth keeping expectations in check for this being some kind of E3 show, as this is usually a more fan-focused affair. Music? Gameplay? Tournaments? All still there.

Meanwhile, the summer of games is adjusting to a world without E3, as the ESA is skipping the festivities this year. Nintendo wasn’t planning on going, but also hasn’t locked in any Directs around that time as of writing. Granted, the company is coming off a big movie debut, and gearing up for the launch of Tears of the Kingdom. Hopefully we’ll hear more about any summer streaming plans soon.
