With Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 3, players can look forward to new content and operators. By far one of the most intriguing upcoming additions in the game is the release of Blackcell. This cosmetic bundle comes with everything you need to gear up for the new season.

Blackcell MW2 and Warzone 2.0, explained

Activision initially teased Blackcell in the reveal trailer for Season 3, showing the words “Blackcell” across the screen in the final seconds. What’s more, the trailer didn’t reveal what Blackcell is, putting the community in a buzz about what this new feature or addition could be.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for Blackcell to be formally revealed. In the end, it isn’t a new multiplayer map or even a new faction for DMZ. Instead, Blackcell is the name of a bundle and possibly a new operator, which will join MW2 and Warzone 2.0 in Season 3. Anyone who purchases Blackcell will get a ton of items, including the premium Battle Pass, 20 Tier Skips, and 1,100 Call of Duty Points. Activision is calling it the “premier Battle Pass upgrade,” as it gives you everything you need for the new season.

By far the most intriguing part of the Blackcell bundle is the new operator skin. Presumably the inspiration for the bundle’s name, the exclusive soldier wears a full set of stylish black and gold armor. Their shiny golden mask covers their face and gives them a look that rivals every other skin in these games.

Blackcell also comes with a weapon blueprint that matches the base operator skin. However, more goodies should recieve announcements in the coming weeks.

How to get Blackcell in MW2 and Warzone 2.0

If players want to get the highly anticipated Blackcell MW2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 3 bundle, you’ll have to shell out quite a bit to unlock it. It costs $29.99 and is unavailable for purchase using CoD Points. Fortunately, you get around 7,000 CoD Points-worth of items in the bundle, which would otherwise cost you $74.99.

For some players, the value of the package could be completely justified by the unique gimmick that the Blackcell operator skin has going for it. For the first time in these games, this skin has 12 variant styles a la Fortnite.

Players have the opportunity to unlock all 12 versions of the Blackcell operator through special challenges in Season 3. The bundle is likely to launch alongside the new season on April 12, 2023.
