I hope they fix their AAA pre-order system within our lifetime
Nintendo is still proceeding as planned with its updated storefront, which includes an incorporation of the My Nintendo program amid their pre-order system, and other merch. While communication on all of this is generally spotty; the UK and Ireland side has, at the very least, opened up a Twitter account to give folks some general updates.
It went live just hours ago, and asks users to “follow the channel to stay up to date about all things My Nintendo Store.” The first order of business is setting things straight with Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon SteelBook situation, which is now a pre-order bonus for the March 17 release (in that region). All current pre-orders will be upgraded automatically.
For context, pre-order bonuses for Nintendo games are often messy, resulting in lengthy queues, system issues, or very brief sale periods. Things really came to a head with the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 situation, where that mess spilled over to multiple regions. Hopefully this Twitter account can at least ease some of the communication problems Nintendo has been having with high-ticket pre-orders.
If you’re in the UK or Ireland and actually care about this stuff, consider giving it a follow!
