Rocket League x Grimes is a celebration of music
Rocket League has been known to collaborate with all kinds of cool brands, like Batman, Stranger Things, and yes, even us back in 2015. Now the game’s newest collaboration has been revealed, and it’s with none other than musician Grimes. The event, called Neon Nights, will begin on all platforms on January 26. This is the first time Rocket League is theming an in-game event around a musical artist, so get ready for some new surprises.
Players will be able to compete in brand new Event Challenges to earn Grimes-themed items, like Player Anthems, Toppers, Tails, Decals, Wheels, Banners, and Boosts. Neon Nights will also include the return of the Limited Time Mode Heartseeker Ricochet, which will be available to play for the duration of the event. Golden Moons are also back, so players can earn them to unlock items from the Impact, Nitro, and Overdrive Item Series.
If all of this wasn’t enough, Rocket League will also be celebrating the Lunar New Year in the midst of the Neon Nights event with the free Year of the Tiger bundle, which will include the Tiny Tiger Topper and Tyger Decal.
Grimes is known for her electronic dream pop style, which makes for the perfect gaming music, in my opinion. As Rocket League has also made a name for itself in the realm of video game soundtracks with its energetic tunes, this collaboration was a no-brainer. One of the Anthems that players can unlock is actually “Shinigami Eyes,” a new song that Grimes will be releasing on January 26 as well. Games like Fortnite, Minecraft, and Roblox have made waves by multiple in-game live events with huge artists like Marshmello, Ariana Grande, and Lil Nas X, so it’s cool to see Rocket League getting in on the action a little bit.
Neon Nights will be around until February 8, so make sure to enjoy this limited-time event while it’s still around.
