In a sudden and surprising bit of news, Spike Chunsoft has announced that the anniversary rerelease of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is making its way to PC and Xbox One, as well as Xbox Game Pass. And when I say “is making its way,” I mean, “it’s available to purchase right meow!”

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition is the 2020 remaster of the 2010 Sony PSP hit that launched a hundred and one murder mysteries. The basic premise sees genius school student Makoto Naegi cast among a group of the scholarly elite — forced into a terrifying game of Kill or Be Killed by the sinister plush toy, Monokuma. Trigger Happy Havoc kicked off Kazutaka Kodaka’s creepy-cute series with its blend of mystery, drama, romance, and intrigue. Needless to say, there will be blood.

The Anniversary Edition features revamped visuals, a fully modernized control system, as well as some much-needed features such as an improved mapping system. There is also a gallery mode, allowing players to unlock and peruse the iconic art from veteran Danganronpa dauber Rui Komatsuzaki. The “Anniversary Edition” tag was later rolled out to various mainline Danganronpa sequels, so no doubt they too will come creeping onto the PC/Xbox/Xbox Game Pass service at some point in the future.
