Launching probe for confirmation
Whispers that came over the information superhighway this weekend suggest that Electronic Arts’ excellent RPG trilogy Mass Effect: Legendary Edition could be headed to Xbox Game Pass, following a hastily removed Xbox Store listing.
First spotted by Polish website XGP, a new listing for the sci-fi space opera appeared on the Xbox Store Friday, November 19, emblazoned with a badge signifying its availability on the popular paid subscription service. The listing was then hastily removed, but not before XGP was able to bag a sneaky screengrab of the title. Here’s hoping it wasn’t a misprint.
Of course, there is prior pedigree for EA titles to hit the Game Pass. The publisher’s games are often made available on its own EA Play service, which itself is included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. It would make perfect sense for the remastered edition of BioWare’s dramatic and beloved series to be made available to the service’s users at some point in the future, and given Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is already six months old (yes, really) now is as good a time as any.
We’ll be sure to give you the heads-up should Electronic Arts or Microsoft confirm/deny this development… Shepard…
