Fans of life-sim RPG My Time at Portia will be waking up to the delightful news that developer Pathea Games is hard at work on an all-new sequel. Expected to launch in Early Access in the spring of 2021, My Time at Sandrock is currently in development for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.

My Time at Sandrock hopes to expand upon 2019’s Portia in every way, with an overhauled engine, updated visuals and sound, and a wide variety of locations, tasks, and NPCs, all set within a beautiful “Miyazaki-style” world. Set in the titular city, located deep within the Eufaula Desert, players will be charged with gathering resources, scavenging for relics, and working to create a functioning town and economy for Sandrock’s civilians and merchants.

The new sequel hopes to include a new multiplayer mode, as well as an improved battle system, more relationship options, and a slew of back-breaking tasks related to building, farming, and cultivating crops and products for the townsfolk. A new storyline promises “heroes and villains” alongside “comedy and tragedy”.

To this end, Pathea Games has opened a Kickstarter campaign, in order to raise additional funds to help with the scale of the new title. The developer has set a target of $100,000 USD, to help with staffing costs and to secure self-publishing rights. You can find out more about the back rewards, alongside further detail on the sequel itself, over on Kickstarter.
