‘First ever’ Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe screens

Midway claims that these images they’ve sent us for the upcoming Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe are the “first ever.” We’re not sure if we’re buying it, because we’re pretty positive we’ve seen some around before, like some of the character and environment renders.

The action shots, however, may be be new. So it’s for that reason we’re inclined to pass them along for your viewing pleasure. In them, Scorpion is being put to the test, being pitted against Superman, Batman, and the Flash. That dude never gets a rest. Some of the environment renders look particularly interesting, like the war-torn Metropolis and very warm- and scary-looking Hell.

Midway have also announced that Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon and comic writer Jimmy Palmiotti will be appearing on a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 25. The two will discuss the upcoming game, showing off never-before-seen gameplay footage and revealing more roster details. Midway will also be handing out exclusive, limited edition Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Comic-Con posters, so fire up your eBay accounts accordingly.
